  1. Rd 3 was proof that Cotto got cheated in the first fight. That exchange is when Cotto realized that he can stand with him. Margarito landed a huge punch and Cotto ate it and started bombing his ass.

  2. The way Cotto set up that lead hook to the right hand at 22:29 was a thing of beauty, throws a lazy Jab to get the hands up feints the jab down to the body to bring the hands back down turns over the hook and the straight right behind.. sweet science baby

  3. Harold Ledermans judging and commentary is so irritating. It just reinforces why boxing judging is so fucking weird sometimes. Harold often says hes gave it to a guy for "coming forward,", even if the guy is getting lit the fuck up and getting his shit wrecked in the process. I somewhat agree with scoring the fight for the guy whos doing more damage (if youre doing more damage, that means you're taking less than the other guy, so it does factor in offense, defense, and ring control, to an extent), but it seems like Harolds scoring is less about whos doing more damage, instead favoring the guy who APPEARS to be more aggressive.

Hence giving Margarito the 5th even though Cotto was wrecking his shit and clearly doing more damage, but he was going backwards and sideways while doing it.
